BERGIE giorgiandreazza biography

BERGIE by giorgiandreazza founded the brand in Milan in 2018.
She began her fashion studies at the Professional Institute in Breganze (Vi). She then continued at
NABA (New Academy of Fine Arts) where she graduated with honors in March 2018. The 100% made in Italy brand is based on the love for tailoring that was born within the walls of her home in Bassano del Grappa, where Giorgia absorbed from her mother the passion for the savoir faire of tailoring. The stylistic figure is based on the parallelism between current events and socio-cultural aspects and the process of combining engineering inspirations, current events and tech-futuristic imagery comes naturally to her. She approaches unusual materials in collaboration with nautical and military supply companies, fireproof, bulletproof compounds such as Kevlar, carbon and glass fibers. Work experiences in Asia, particularly in Vietnam and China, mark moments of evolution of the project. Initially, the collections were developed with the principle of upcycling in a completely creative and spontaneous way, then later, thanks to the growth of the internal business with the inclusion of the licensing contract, more and more quantities of fabrics and accessories were taken from the dead-stock of large Italian productions, becoming the fil rouge of each release. The transformist/dynamic silhouettes are a signature of the Giorgia Andreazza brand, as are the gathers and drapes that create a dystopian and ultra-material approach in which a body-dress can assume all possible identities in the spectrum of gender, race and species. Giorgia’s garments speak and come from queer instances, thanks to the constant inclusion both in the choice of casting and in the inclusion of the creative team. Thus allowing people to fluctuate between day and night, between masculine and feminine and manifesting themselves as a reality of subculture. By manipulating fabrics, spreading them and deforming them, new life is also given to natural base materials that take on more complex artificial appearances to avoid the use of materials of animal or polymer origin, obtaining sophisticated textures, creating an element of continuity in the different collections. Relevant pieces are the bomber jacket and the bag. The bomber jacket brings with it the keyword fluidity, where the applications of voluminous padding that are implemented in each collection are constant; this garment represents that “coverage” that dehumanizes the shapes of the body. The iconic bag, the “Bergie bag”, instead has an asymmetric curved handle printed in 3D with recycled plastic, making it a best seller and a highly recognizable piece. The progress was strengthened by the meeting with the stipulation of the production and distribution license agreement with the company - M Studio SRL since July 2021, which guarantees an entrepreneurial approach guaranteeing credibility with retailers. In recent years, “GIORGIANDREAZZA” has had a good response worldwide through the presentations held during the Milan fashion week with the support of the Italian Chamber of Fashion but above all thanks to the collections presented in Paris and later in Shanghai. One of the most famous interviews is that of “Billboard” where the DRIIIN PUPPY collection is described where the designer makes the clothes sound thanks to the movements of the models in collaboration with sound engineers. There are several international publications thanks to the support of S2b press based in Milan and thanks to Nio effect based in Shanghai-Paris. After the event in Milan, the magazine Uncle of New York pays homage to the brand with more than 500 billboards throughout the city of Milan. Another international success is achieved with the presentation in November 2023 in Shanghai for Keqiao fashion week which stimulates the designer in the study of the Chinese language. Finally, in September 2024, Giorgia presented her exhibition at the Venice Art Biennale and, again during Milan Fashion Week, she launched her first fragrance with the Parisian company Mane 1871. Finally, the latest mentions appear on the docuseries of “Moda- Una Rivoluzione italiana” produced by Sky and Now TV and recent editorials printed such as ELLE and L’OFFICIEL.
